Cllr Rob Vernon plays an active role in key areas of governance, finance, and economic development on Cheshire East Council. Rob works closely with the Economy & Growth service area, contributing to the scrutiny of decisions on regeneration, investment, and business development across the borough. He is passionate about unlocking economic development and a new outlook on town centre living.
Rob represents Cheshire East on the Cheshire Fire Authority alongside councillors from Cheshire West and Chester, Halton and Warrington. He also represents the council as a member of the Local Government Association (LGA) General Assembly. In his local community, he has been a campaigning community voice for nearly a decade – first leading the campaign to safeguard mental health provision at Macclesfield Hospital in 2018. For the last five years he has run a foodbank collection within Broken Cross and Upton, and is known within the area for regular Community Action Days – cutting back bushes, clearing grot spots and cleaning up old dirty street signs.
Rob is a passionate supporter of Macclesfield Football Club, and follows the club home and away.
