Cllr Nick Mannion is the Leader of Cheshire East Council. As Leader, Nick provides strategic political direction for the authority, chairing its Corporate Policy Committee, and working closely with partners in Cheshire East and across the Cheshire & Warrington sub-region to support economic growth, community wellbeing, and long‑term investment in the borough. Nick is deputy chair of the emerging devolved Cheshire and Warrington Shadow Authority.
In addition to his leadership responsibilities at Cheshire East Council, Nick represents the Council on regional strategic transport boards, ensuring the area’s voice is heard and there is effective collaboration across the region and the north.
Nick is also involved in community organisations. He is a Director and Trustee of the Macclesfield FC Community Sports Trust, supporting programmes that promote physical activity, youth engagement and community wellbeing in the town and beyond. He also serves as the chair of trustees of the Stanley & Brocklehurst Almshouse Trust, helping to oversee the provision of affordable, supportive housing for local residents. Nick is also a governor at Broken Cross Nursery & Primary Academy School.
Across all his roles, Nick is recognised for his openness and commitment to supporting local communities, economic fairness, and ensuring that Macclesfield and the wider borough have a strong and effective voice both locally, regionally and at national level.
