Cllr Marilyn Houston serves on multiple committees: the Adults Overview and Scrutiny Committee, the Licensing Committee, the Strategic Planning Board and the Investigation and Disciplinary Committee. Marilyn also serves on the Cheshire and Merseyside Joint Health Scrutiny Committee and the Cheshire East Combating Drugs Partnership. She is also a Reserve Member of the Cheshire & Warrington Joint Committee.
In 2024, Marilyn was elected Mayor of Cheshire East, representing the borough at civic events and championing local volunteers, charities, and community causes.
Marilyn is also a Crewe Town Councillor, and she is actively involved in community life. Marilyn supports a wide range of local groups, including serving as a Trustee of Wistaston Academy and is Chair of the Crewe and Nantwich Cancer Research UK Committee. She is also closely involved with the Railtown Loco Rollers Roller Derby Club.
