Cllr Geoff Smith is Vice Chair for the Childrens Overview and Scrutiny Committee where he has an active role in scrutinising the Council’s Children and Families policies and performance. He also serves on the Staffing Appeals Sub‑Committee.
Geoff is the Council’s Care Leavers Champion, advocating for improved support, opportunities, and life chances for young people leaving care.
In addition, Geoff represents Cheshire East on the Cheshire Pension Fund Committee and the Combined Fire Authority, contributing to regional decision‑making on public safety and financial stewardship.
As a Nantwich Town Councillor, Geoff is actively involved in community life. He serves on the Community Garden Executive Committee, the Youth Festival Committee, and the Market Group Committee, helping to deliver local events, support green spaces, and enhance Nantwich Market as a thriving centre for residents and businesses.
