Cllr John Place has an active remit at Cheshire East Council which spans adult social care, public health, licensing regulation and local transport planning, which ensures he can champion residents’ needs across multiple areas of Cheshire East’s work. He also sits on the Tatton Board.
In his capacity as a Cheshire East Councillor, John is also a member of the Bollington Town Council’s Transport and Travel Working Group.
John has been active in Bollington community life for many years, being a former Bollington town councillor and a volunteer with the environmental group Transition Bollington. He is a member of the Bollington Youth Group, which he helped to set up, supports the ‘Hello Buddy’ charity, and volunteers with the Santa’s Sleigh project through Macclesfield Round Table. John is also a volunteer and organiser for the Macclesfield Beerfest and he supports Bollington United Football Club.
